Understanding Iset Sports
ISET Sports is a subscription based internet service that allows organizations to manage the complexities of results for large events.
Designed primarily for indoor and outdoor volleyball events, iset.net has provided real-time result management for over 55,000 sets of
volleyball over the last 10 years.
As an internet service, iset.net is available through your web browser and internet connection. There is nothing to install on your computer.
Using ISET Sports
ISET Sports was developed with one end in mind, to simplify the tasks associated
with organizing a sporting event. We have broken down the process into several phases:
Planning for the event
Publishing information about your event and marketing
the event to attracting teams is usually the first task associated with event planning.
This often involves preparing a registration package and sending to interested teams.
With iset.net, this task can be done in a few quick steps. After registering your
organization with iset, simply add a tournament from the tournament area of the
your organization home page. A wizard prompts you for basic information about the
event and creates the event for you. By default, iset.net does not publish the event
to allow you to edit and add more information including: uploading a tournament
logo, adding sponsor information and logos, venue information, upload tournament
documents, and updating general information.
Creating and refining Schedules is simple. Either define a simple
schedule using iset's scheduling wizard, copy a schedule from a template, other
manually create a complex schedule. Scheduling includes defining a draw and a competitions
schedule. Schedules may be linked so that competitors can be moved to a new schedule
based on their standings. Once completed, the tournament director can then publish
the schedule for the participants or the schedule may be exported in MS excel format
for use in other programs.
At any time, the tournament director can use iset.net's communication tools to communicate
with the participants. This includes the news feature that allows
the director to pass on news articles to the public. Also, the email
utility lets the tournament director send emails to all registered teams.
Game Day
Its game day and you are well prepared. Your schedule is available to the participants
and spectators. As a tournament director, you can delegate the task of recording
results as they occur. From courtside, convenors can enter scores immediately
as they occur or after the game is complete and there is no need to publish information
to the web since you are using a web tool. Results are automatically recorded and
standings are updated. Results are presented to the tournament director for approval.
(until the results are approved, results are flagged as unofficial).
iset.net also offers convenor messaging. This allows tournament
directors and convenors to communicate back and forth during the event.
Final standings for each schedule must be manually set by the tournament
director in order to handle custom tie breaking procedures. After standings are
defined, teams are moved into the next round of the tournament automatically by
the tool.
