Registration
Registration is to be done online at www.volleyball.ca. Deadline : April 17th, 2006 Registration fees : 14&Under - $575 15&Under & 16&Under - $675

Team Eligibility
Team Eligibility All teams must: 1) Be registered and in good standing within their own region (P/TA) and with Volleyball Canada. Out of country teams must also be registered and in good standing within their own National Federation. 2) Participate in the Provincial Championship (any Tier) held in their own Province or Territory, if one exists (team roster must be the same at provincials and nationals). 3) meet all registration requirements
Player Eligibility
All players in the 16 & Under category must have been born in 1990 or later (no exception) All players in the 15 & Under category must have been born in 1991 or later (no exception) All players in the 14 & Under category must have been born in 1992 or later (no exception)
Roster
The team roster may consist of a maximum of 15 players and 3 coaching staff (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager). Only 12 of those 15 players can be registered on the scoresheet during the competition and will be permitted to play any given match. These 12 athletes may vary from one match to another. Rosters will be transfered from P/TAs to VC after each P/TA registration deadline. (Excepted in P/TAs not using online registration. Users will have to manually enter all information for each team member)
Withdrawals
Refunds will be given (less a $100 administrative fee) on withdrawals made up to 12:00am (EST) on the entry deadline for your event. After this time, no refunds will be given.
Team Check-in
Team check-in will take place Thursday, May 11, 2006 between 1:00 pm-6:00pm at the Agrena. Teams will need their Accreditation to gain access to the opening ceremonies and venues. Accreditations will be in the team packages.
Coaches Meeting
There will be a coaches meeting at 9:00pm on Thursday May 11, 2006 at the University de Moncton (Ceps). It is mandatory that each team be represented otherwise a performance bond sanction will be placed on the non-represented team.
Opening Ceremonies
Opening Ceremonies will host "Canadian Idol Finialist" Casey LeBlanc!Opening Ceremonies will commence at 7:30pm on May 11, 2006 in the Stade at the University de Moncton. All participant with accredidation will enter the stade, at UdeM, directly through the large bay doors. All other spectators (parents, general public,etc) who have purchased a Tournament Pass may attend and will be seated in the upper level of the Stade, enter through the university de Moncton's doors. The doors for the opening ceremonies will open at 6:30pm.
Technical Matters
Playing Rules The Official Volleyball Canada 2005-2006 Indoor Rule Book shall govern play at the National Championships. Official Ball The Tachikara SV-5WI ball will be used for all match play in the 15U and 16U divisions. The Tachikara SV5W Gold ball will be used for all match play in the 14U division. Draw The team block start time will be available on the site Monday April 24th. The schedule will be posted at the Coaches Meeting. The format will consist of a series of seeding pools within each division, followed by either single or double elimination play-offs, depending on the number of tournament entries. However, the following information will be available on-site: - which division teams are seeded in (TBA) - which shift (AM or PM) each team will be playing in (TBA) To determine the draw tournament organizers will use rankings based on results at Provincial Championships and Volleyball Canada seeding regulations. Seeding and Divisional Play Full regulations on seeding and divisional play (Rule 13.0) can be found in VC Indoor Competitions Guide via www.volleyball.ca (VC Competitions/ Indoor/Championships). 13.1 Entry for True National Championships (Division 1) 1.All Provincial and Territorial champions, 2.Followed by, 3 other teams from the following 6 provinces: BC, AB, SK, MB, ON, and QC (provided all teams finish in the top 8 at their provincials), 3.The remaining spots are determined by the Host Committee in consultation with the DCC. 13.5 Divisional Play - The preferred size for a division is 32 teams - Minimum size for a division: 16 teams - Maximum size for a division: 47 teams - Seeding within the divisions will be the mandate of the DCC. 13.6 Provinces who were not represented in a specific age category at the previous year’s Open Championships will automatically be placed in the second division of that event. Warm-Up A minimum of 15 minutes (5 on court, 5-5 for hitting) will be available for warm-up prior the start of each match
Coaching Certification
Coaches are requested to present proof of coaching certification to scorekeepers at the beginning if each match, along with their team roster. If coaching certification is not presented, officials will make a note on the scoresheet for the tournament committee to take action. VC Certified Referees
Referees Volleyball Canada certified officials will be assigned to each match. Officials’ coordination will be done through consultation with the VNB Officials Chair and the National Officials Chair.
Referee Technical Meeting
All certified officials are requested to attend a mandatory referee technical meeting, chaired by the Referee Supervisor. Date & time: May 11, 2006 at 9:30pm Location :University de Moncton
Officiating Duties
Teams will be required to provide 1 linesperson and 1 scorekeeper for each of their own matches. The linesperson, can be athletes, coaches, parents or spectators. A scorekeepers accreditation will be added to your team package so you can assign a person for the scorekeeping duties. The scorekeeper should be a mananger or parent. A scorekeeper's training session, will be offered Thursday May 11 at 6:00pm at the University de Moncton and a second session at 1:00pm on Friday May 12, at the Agrena.
Medical Services
Medical services during the competition will be available for emergencies. There will be physiotherapists, kinesiologists and massage therapists on site for the athletes. Athletes must provide their own tape.

Tournament Jury
The tournament jury is composed of a Volleyball Canada/Domestic Competition Committee (DCC) representative, Host committee representative, and the Referee Supervisor. For more information on the Jury's powers and duties, please consult section 20 of the Indoor Competition Guide 2005-2006.
Performance Bond
The $400.00 team performance bond remains the responsibility of each Provincial/Territorial Association. Ultimately, teams will be required to forward the bonds amount in the event of any infraction which affect: 1) VC Code of conduct violation 2) Accommodation/facility damaged 3) Uniform regulation 4) Coaches fail to meet coaching certification requirements 5) If a team does not fulfill its competitive obligations to an event. Teams will have the opportunity to purchase Team Photography. Photographs will be taken in Area C of the Agrena.

Practice Times
