Registration Process, Fees & Refunds
<b>Registration Process</b>
Teams must confirm their attendance by e-mail to
[email protected] then follow-up with a team/player profile and logo prior to July 16th. Please include player's name, jersey number, height, position, hometown as well as head coach, assistant coach and manager names.
<b>Fees</b>
Registration fees are $600.00/team. A cheque must be mailed to Volleyball Canada office prior to July 16th, 2004.
<b>Refunds & Withdrawals</b>
Refunds will be given (less a $100 administrative fee) on withdrawals made up to 12:00am (EST) on the entry deadline (July 16th). After this time, no refunds will be given.
Eligibility
<b>Team Eligibility</b>
All teams must be recognized Juvenile Provincial Team Programs form their respective province or territory.
<b>Player Eligibility</b>
Players must have been born in 1986 or later.
<b>Roster</b>
Teams may register a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 15. Only 12 players can be registered on the score sheet and may participate in the match. These 12 players may vary from match to match as long as no more than 12 players take part in any given match.
Draw, Schedule, Format, Results
The draw will be completed and posted on the Volleyball Canada Website 1 week prior to the event. It is the team’s responsibility to download the information from the website.
All teams will compete on each of the three days and all matches are best 3 out of 5 sets (first four sets to 25 points, with the 5th set to 15 points).

Official Ball
The Official Ball for the NTCC is the Tachikara SV-5WI.
Rules
The Official Volleyball Canada 2003-2004 Indoor Rule Book shall govern play.
Uniform Regulations
Rule 4.3.1: The color and design for jersey’s and shorts (the uniform) must be uniform.
Rule 4.3.3: Player’s jerseys must be numbered from 1-18.
Rule 4.3.3.1: The number must be placed on the jersey at the centre of the front and of the back. The color and brightness of the numbers must contrast with the color and brightness of the jerseys.
Rule 4.3.3.2: The numbers must be between 10 – 15 cm in height on the chest and between 15 – 25 cm on the back. The stripe forming the numbers shall be a minimum of 2 cm in width.
Rule 16.4.1: During sets 1-4 all requested timeouts last for 30 seconds. In addition, two 60 seconds technical timeouts are applied automatically when the leading team reaches the 8th and 16th points. In the deciding set, there are no technical timeouts; only 2 timeouts of 30 seconds duration may be requested by each team.
Rule 20.2: The Libero must wear a uniform whose jersey must contract in color with that of the other members of the team. The Libero uniform may have a different design, but it must be numbered like the rest of the team members.
Coaches Dress: Coaches must be dressed in coaching attire as to represent their province in a professional manner. Coaches must wear shoes and socks. Unapproved head attire is not allowed. Coaches should be dressed in provincial colors, provincially logoed attire, or suits.
Failure to comply with these basic requirements will result in a financial sanction imposed by Volleyball Canada and/or action as determined by the tournament jury.
Officials
<b>Major Officials</b>
Volleyball Canada certified officials representing all parts of the country will be assigned to each match (2 per court). Official coordination will be done through consultation with Dennis Pomeroy, National Officials Chair in coordination with Scott Borys, Regional Officials Chair.
<b>Minor Officials</b>
Line judges and scorekeepers will be provided for all matches.
Coaches Meeting/Team Check-In
The mandatory coaches meeting will be held on Thursday, August 5 – Saskatoon Inn, time to still be determined.
Coaches not in attendance will be subject to a performance bond unless otherwise previously authorized by the Tournament Director, Cara Orr.
Coaches must verify their roster at this time as well as pick up their team/coach packages.
All Head Coaches will be required to submit training programs and athlete profiles to Volleyball Canada at this time (detailed information will be provided shortly).
Performance Bond
The performance bond of $400.00/team/championship is to be mandated by the Province/ Territorial Association (P/TA). Teams should ask their P/TA for more details. In the event of vandalism, violation of VC Code of Conduct or problem with uniforms each team will be liable for their infringements.
Practice Times
Practice times will be available on Thursday, August 5 at Saskatoon Soccer Centre according to the following schedule:
12:00 pm – 5:00pm: 6 courts (3 men, 3 women)
Limited one (1) hour practice time is available for teams and will be booked on a first come, first serve basis. Teams must submit their preferred practice times in writing to
[email protected].
After the registration deadline the host shall distribute practice time in equal time allocation.
Protests and Appeals
Protests or appeals will be dealt with by the Tournament Jury, which is comprised of the Referee Supervisor, Domestic Development Committee Representative and the Host Committee Representative. Further information will be provided at the Coaches Meeting.
Warm-up Protocol
Both teams will be given a minimum of 15 minutes (5 minutes on the court and 5-5 for hitting) to warm-up on the court after which the teams would exchange pins or tokens prior to the beginning of the match (if applicable).
Awards & Prizes
Volleyball Canada will provide prizes and awards at the Closing Ceremonies as follows:

All Star/MVP Awards
The All-Star selection process will be provided at the Coaches Meeting.
Tournament Program
The Host Organizing Committee will be producing a tournament program for sale at the Championship.
The Host is requesting all regions to forward VIA E-MAIL team/player profiles, and logo to Saskatchewan Volleyball for inclusion in the tournament program by Friday, July 16, 2004. Each team is responsible for arranging their transportation during the Championship.

Bar-B-Que for Coaches/Officials/Athletes
A Bar-B-Que will be held for all coaches, athletes, officials, parents and delegates. The Bar-B-Que will take place on Thursday, August 5 from 6-8:00pm. Advanced ticket purchase will be necessary by Friday, July 16. Further details to follow.
Hospitality suite for Coaches/Officials
Saskatchewan Volleyball will operate a hospitality suite at the Saskatoon Inn on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
Medical Services
There will be Athletic Therapy personnel on hand at the competition site to provide medical first aid to players.
They will be available to do any taping, but teams must provide the tape for this service to be performed.
Concessions
A concession and lounge area will be available throughout the tournament.
Tournament T-shirts & Volleyball Canada Boutique
The Championship Committee has designed an official 2004 NTCC Tournament T-shirt.
Teams are asked to pre-order these shirt by Friday, July 23, 2004 to ensure that your athletes and coaches are able to get one (please fax orders using the attached tournament order form).
Invoices will be sent to each Provincial/Territorial Association once orders have been received. Payment can be made by cheque, credit card or money order. Please make cheques payable to Sport Logo.
There will be a very limited number of official shirts for sale at the tournament boutique.
There will also be Volleyball Canada merchandise on sale at the tournament boutique.
Pre-Ordered shirts will be distributed at the Coaches meeting on Thursday, August 5, 2004.
