Registration
Registration is to be done online at <a href='www.volleyball.ca' target='_blank'>www.volleyball.ca</a>.
Registration fees : $650 (service fees and taxes includs).
Deadline : April 19th, 2005

<u><b>**New for 2005**</b></u>
You don't have to enter your team roster (exceptions : teams from PTAs that do not currently have an online registration system will have to enter contact information for all team members). It will be automatically transfer from PTAs to VC after the respective registration deadlines.
Cancellation
It will be possible to cancel a registration. Refunds will be given (less a $100 administrative fee) on withdrawals made up the entry deadline of the event. After this time, no refunds will be given.
Divisions and seeding
Rules and details in regard to divisional play & seeding are outlined in section 17 of the Indoor Competition Guide 2004-2005. You must download it from <u>Registration Information</u> section of this event.
Eligibility
<u><B>All teams must:</B></u>
<B>1)</B> Be registered properly within their own P/TA and within Volleyball Canada. Out of country teams must also be registered properly within their own National Federation.
<B>2)</B> Participate in the Provincial Championship (any Tier) held in their own province or territory, if one exists (team roster must be the same at provincials and nationals).
<B>3)</B> meet all registration requirements.
<u><B>Player Eligibility</B></u>
<B>15 & Under :</B> All players must have been born in 1990 or later (no exceptions)
<B>16 & Under :</B> All players must have been born in 1989 or later (no exceptions)
Roster
The team roster may consist of a maximum of 15 players and 3 coaching staff (Head Coach, Assistant-Coach, Manager). Only 12 of those 15 players can be registered on the scoresheet during the competition and will be permitted to play during the match. These 12 athletes may vary from one match to another.
Indoor Competition Guide 2004-2005
All competition rules (eligibilty, schedules, divisions and seedings, standings) are available in the Indoor Competition Guide 2004-2005. All coaches and team contacts should be aware of its content. It should be download under the Registration Information page.
Playing Rules
The Official Volleyball Canada 2004-2005 Indoor Rules Book will govern play at the National Championships.
Official ball
Tachikara SV-5WI ball will be used for every competition games.
Team Check-in
<u><B>Date & Time :</B></u>May 12th, from 15h00 to 20h00
<u><B>Location :</B></u> Centre sportif de l'Université de Sherbrooke
At check-in, coaches will be asked to verify their team roster and pick up players/coaches package with a championship souvenir. Teams will not be permitted to play without having verified their roster.
Coaches Meeting
<u><B>Date & Time :</B></u> May 12th, 21h00
<u><B>Location :</B> </u>Centre sportif de l'Université de Sherbrooke
There will be a mandatory coaches meeting. A team representative must attend this meeting, if any team representative could assist at the meeting, you have the responsability to contact the tournament organisation to indicate your absentee. A unrepresented team could lost a part of his performance bonds if this absentee will not be autorize by a jury member.
Coaches Certification
Coaches are requested to present proof of coaching certification to scorekeepers at the beginning of each match with their team roster. If coaching certification is not presented, officials will take a note on the scoresheet. The tournament committee will take action.
Schedule
Schedules will be distributed at the coaches meeting. However, few days before the competition, every teams should know approximative hour of their first match. All teams could be sure to play 7 games and at least 1 on sunday.

Warm-up
You have 15 minutes warm-up. It will split like 5 minutes free, 5 minutes for each team to hitting. It will be possible to physically warm-up around the court before a match.
Referees
Volleyball Canada certified officials will be assigned to each match. Official's coordination will be done through consultation with Volleyball Quebec and Volleyball Canada.

All certified officials are requested to attend a mandatory referee technical meeting, chaired by the Referee Supervisor.
Minor Officials
For the competition, the teams must provide a linespersons for their match. He could be a player, a coach, a relation or a spectator.
Medical Services
On each venues, you will find a secourist. At the Université de Sherbrooke, you will have access to a physiotherapist.
Transportation
Every teams are responsible for arranging their own transportation to, from and during the championships. But, each participant will have the possibility to receive a free pass for an access to the public transport of Sherbrooke during all the competition (You must ask at the check-in).

Don't forget to mention that you are booking for the 2005 Canadian East Open in order to receive your preferential rates! Please be aware that availability is limited. Tournament Boutique
A Volleyball Canada merchandise boutique will be on-site. You will have the chance to buy championship t-shirt, VC clothing and much more!
Promotionnals Items
Some T-shirts will available at the tournament boutique for 20$. During the next weeks, you will have a chance to command your t-shirt and for each one you will get a discount of 5$.
Every team must pass by the photograph stand to take your team photography. During the competition, you will have access at these pictures and you have the possibility to let you take action pictures.

Ceremonies
<u><B>Opening ceremonies</u></B>
There will be an opening ceremonies on Thursday May 12th, 2005.
<u><B>Prizes & awards</u></B>
<B>1)</B>Championship banners will be awarded to divisional champions in each category.
<B>2)</B>Medals for the top 3 teams of each divisions.
<B>3)</B>Prizes will be given to gold, silver and bronze medallits in Division 1
<B>4)</B>Prizes for the winners and finalists in each "Tier".
Social activities
Every participant will be invite to a communal supper and a beach party on saturday 14th in evening. More details later.
Tournament Jury
The tournament jury is composed of a Volleyball Canada/Domestic Competition Committee (DCC) representative, Host committee representative, and the Referee Supervisor. For more information on the Jury's powers and duties, please consult section 20 of the Indoor Competition Guide 2004-2005.
Performance Bonds
The $400.00 team performance bond remains the responsibility of each Provincial/Territorial Association. Ultimately, teams will be required to forward the bonds amount in the event of any infraction which affect:
<B>1)</B>VC Code of conduct violation
<B>2)</B>Accommodation/facility damaged
<B>3)</B>Uniform regulation
<B>4)</B>Coaches fail to meet coaching certification requirements
<B>5)</B>If a team does not fulfill its competitive obligations to an event.
