    True North Sports & Entertainment Limited is the owner of the Manitoba Moose and is the owner, developer, and operator of Winnipeg’s downtown multi-purpose sports and entertainment centre. In 2003, True North acquired the ownership of the Moose hockey franchise to create a single ownership entity for the new facility and the team, which has been the facility's anchor tenant since the building opened in Fall 2004. The President and CEO of True North is Jim Ludlow. As building owner and developer, True North has completed construction on the 15,000+ seat entertainment, sports, performing arts and community events facility at a prominent address on Portage Avenue in the heart of downtown. The total capital cost was $133.5 million, with the private sector providing $93 million and the public sector $40.5 million toward the capital cost of the facility. The MTS Centre is seen as the major catalyst in Winnipeg's ongoing business and cultural renaissance that includes new and planned initiatives for sports, tourism, education, business, entertainment and dining in the downtown. Parking: You can now purchase prepaid MTS Centre Parking at any of four designated lots Portage Place, City Place, Millennium Library or Winnipeg Square. Parking prices for all events will be $3.00, $5.00 or $7.00 (plus service charge) depending on the lot location and the event. The 7,000 available parking spaces within a five minute walk include 2,270 spaces that are indoors and/or heated (including the two cityplace parkades on Hargrave Street, the underground Portage Place Shopping Centre parking and the Millennium Library parkade. A little farther away, just outside the five minute walking contour but connected to MTS Centre by the Skywalk, the Winnipeg Square parkade offers another heated indoor parking option.
